County hears budget requests
By SUE WATSON
The Marshall County Board of Supervisors held a budget meeting July 28 to discuss requests, but since the county assessed valuation was not yet available from the tax assessor’s office, the board postponed action on a number of items on the agenda.
The board approved the following requests:
The board motioned to advertise for bids for ambulance service. Transcare Ambulance Service has the contract with the county until September 30.
A request for four school resource officers and one mill of the county assessment from the Marshall County School District was tabled for further action.
Supervisors tabled many requests because the county's assessed valuation was not available at the time of the meeting. Supervisors said they need the dollar figure they have to work with in their budget before they can decide how much they have to spend.
