A good man
To know Terry Sawyer was to like Terry Sawyer. He was one of Marshall County’s finest persons.
One of the great things about living in different towns since I left Alabama 22 years ago is meeting good people. Terry was one of the best I’ve met, anywhere.
Close to Nowhere
I am 39!!!
• With three birthdays in August here at the newspaper office, there’s been a lot of talk about “getting older.” Not that any of us are getting any older, thank you very much!
Mary Minor from the Extension Service dropped by the office Tuesday morning and she’s going to have a birthday this year also. Imagine that -- a great many of us are going to be 39 (again) all in the same year.
“I don’t think I’m grown up yet,” Mary said laughing.
In loving memory of T.M. “Coach” Stone -- 1915-2008
By Mary R. Minor
Potts Camp lost a beloved coach, teacher, friend, mentor, advisor, servant, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, as well as other endearing terms, this past week.
Letters to the Editor
Heart-felt thank you:
Our family would like to let everyone involved with the roll-over accident on Taska Road, July 24, know that we appreciate, more than we will ever be able to show, all the help our family received!
Please take time to remember our local “heroes” who are serving in war zones around the world.
