Parks and Recreation announces registrations

The Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department announces registrations for several activities.

Parks and Rec is registering youth who want to participate in baseball and softball for boys and girls ages 4-16.

Registration will be held at City Hall, 160 South Memphis Street. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The last day to register is Friday, Feb. 15.

The Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department is also offering basketball registration for the men’s 35 and older league and women’s league. There will be a coaches’ meeting on Monday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building, located on North Memphis Street.

Rust College hosts Philander Smith Thursday night at McMillan Center

The Rust College Lady Bearcats and Bearcats will host Philander Smith this week in the McMillan Multi-Purpose Center gym.

On Thursday, Jan. 17, the Lady Bearcats and the Bearcats will play the Lady Panthers and Panthers beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door.

Members of the 2007 Northwest Mississippi Community College baseball team show off their Region XXIII championship rings after being honored at halftime of the Rangers’ home basketball game against Mississippi Delta Jan. 10 in Senatobia.
