Northwest honors list for spring semester The
academic and vocational honors lists for the 2008 spring semester at
Northwest Community College have been released by college officials. Those
students completing 12 or more semester hours with a grade point
average of 3.75 or better in a four-point system are on the President’s
List. The Dean’s List includes students completing a minimum of 12
semester hours with a 3.50 to 3.74 average. Named to the Vocational
Honors List are students who have shown outstanding progress in their
chosen field. Students from Marshall County are included. Named
to the President’s List are Ryan L. Greenwood, Lacey R. Howard,
Stephanie M. Jeans, John T. Norton, Kristel B. Roland, Summer N. Shaw,

David
Breithaupt, far right, stands at the Vietnam Wall in D.C., on his
week-long trip there last week through the Electric Power Association
of Mississippi’s essay contest. He is looking at two names of good
friends of his grandfather, Mel Breithaupt of August, GA, who were
killed in Vietnam when their helicopter was blown up in 1968. A rising
senior at Marshall Academy, David is the son of Perry and Beth
Breithaupt of Holly Springs. |
HSHS registration Beginning June 23 a mass
pre-registration session for all returning students of Holly Springs
High School will be held from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.; this also includes the
eighth graders of Holly Springs Junior High. Please
bring two of the following proofs of residency: filed Homestead
Exemption application form; mortgage documents of property deeds;
apartment or home lease; utility bill; driver’s license; voter precinct
identification; automobile registration. If a P.O. Box address is used for a mailing address, two forms with the physical address must be presented. Guardians must show proof of court-ordered guardianship at time of registration. There will be no pre-registration for returning students once school begins in August. If
a student is not pre-registered before August, he/she will not be able
to attend until the pre-registration process is complete. Parents
or guardians who wish to enroll new students into the Holly Springs
School District will begin registration July 16-18 and resume July 28
with the guidance secretary only.
