Local students accepted to MSMS Local students
Edwin Dodson, Xavier Harris, Brittany Govan, Nathan Loomer, Lacy
Maxwell, and Annecsa Walker have been accepted to the Mississippi
School for Mathematics and Science’s Class of 2010 and will be
attending MSMS this fall. Edwin Dodson comes to MSMS from Byhalia High School, and is the son of Edward and Ada Fifer. Xavier Harris is a former student of Byhalia High School, and is the son of Greg Harris. Nathan Loomer is a former student of Byhalia High School, and is the son of Donald and Carol Barnes. Lacy Maxwell previously attended Byhalia High School, and is the daughter of Brandy Rainwater. Annecsa Walker comes to MSMS from Byhalia High School, and is the daughter of Ira and Linda Walker. Brittany Govan is a former student of Holly Springs High School, and is the daughter of Kelvin and Monica Govan. MSMS
is a public, residential high school for eleventh and twelfth graders.
The school is located in Columbus on the campus of Mississippi
University for Women. MSMS was created by the Legislature in 1987 in
order to enhance Mississippi’s future by providing innovative learning
experiences to Mississippi’s gifted and talented high school students.
Jonathan Hunsucker graduates from Delta State University Delta
State University awarded 465 degrees to students during spring
commencement exercises held on Saturday, May 10 inside Walter Sillers
Coliseum on the campus. Jonathan David Hunsucker, of Lamar, received a BA in psychology. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hunsucker of Slayden.
Named principal Jinny Hurdle has been named principal for the
2008-09 school year of the 800-student Fleming County High School in
Flemingsburg, Ky. A former Holly Springs resident, Hurdle served as an
administrator for the Holly Springs School District and as a teacher
for Marshall Academy. She resides in Maysville, Ky., with husband,
Frank, and their children, Ash and Lucy. |
