After
two months of renovations, Peebles will officially open its doors at
the Holly Springs Marketplace (old Wal-Mart Shopping Center) Thursday. A
ribbon cutting with the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce, helping
welcome Peebles, is set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Then the community is
invited to come in and shop, said store manager Toni Ward. Shopping hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week in concert with grand opening are from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thereafter, store hours are from 12 noon until 6 p.m. Sundays, and from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. all other days. Employees
with Peebles from as far away as Philadelphia (Miss.) were at the store
helping get ready Monday. They included Tonya and Mike Duke of
Philadelphia, Bill Warren from the New Albany store and Sharonda
McMillian with Peebles in Amory. Peebles Holly Springs is located in the former Dreamland building on Martin Luther King Drive. “We
are excited to welcome Peebles to the community,” said Amy Heaton,
executive director of the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce. “They will
offer our citizens more opportunities to shop at home and find what
they are looking for instead of having to go out of town. “Peebles
has a wide selection of merchandise and I am confident they will be
successful here. I hope other national chains will follow Peebles’ lead
and settle in Holly Springs.” Peebles is one of
the newest members of the Holly Springs Chamber along with Stephanie
Cook, manager of Shoe Show at the Marketplace. She joined the chamber
as an individual member.
