• It’s all my fault. I knew better than to watch the Memphis Tigers game Monday night.
It was my fault in 1973 also, when Gene Bartow was coaching the Memphis Tigers. I didn’t watch a single game in the tournament, until the last one. I watched that last game and they lost.

All of us owe gratitude to those in our past who shaped us as persons. But it is difficult, I think, for most of us to find words to thank them. I write this week with special reference to the teachers we have admired — teachers for whom we may have been difficult students but for whom, as the years have passed, our respect has grown, and to whom the opportunity in this life may have passed to say thanks.
Letters to the Editor
Miracle on Cuba Street:On Thursday evening (just before dark) April 3, an explosion rocked the City of Holly Springs when a home owned by Joe Elliott exploded, causing massive damage to life and property. With this explosion three adults were injured and an infant baby girl (Olandrea Chenelle Elliott) was trapped in the rubbish of the home.
