Annual walking horse show March
15 in Holly Springs
The Holly Springs Charity Walking Horse Classic will be held Saturday,
March 15.
The
show, sponsored by the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce, will begin at
5 p.m. at the Marshall County Fairgrounds, Highway 7 North.
There
will be 32 classes of competition.
The
walking horse classic is affiliated with the National Horse Show
Commission, the Mid South Walking Horse Association and the Mississippi
Walking Horse Association.
The
March 15 show benefits the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce and the
Holly Springs Rotary Club scholarship fund.
Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday at 2 a.m.
Don’t forget – Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend.
During
Daylight Saving Time, clocks are turned forward an hour, effectively
moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.
Remember
to move your clocks forward an hour before going to bed on Saturday
night. Daylight Saving Time starts at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 9.
Daylight
Saving Time will end on the first Sunday in November.
State title games on TV, starting Thursday with Byers

Mississippi
Public Broadcasting (MPB) is your home for the 2008 MHSAA Cellular
South State Basketball Championships beginning this Thursday, March 6,
through Saturday, March 8.
The
first televised
contest will feature the H.W. Byers Lady Lions versus the Philadelphia
Lady Tornadoes for the Class 2A girls championship. It starts at 7 p.m.
Thursday.
Live
statewide on MPB TV and live
streamed at www.mpbonline.org, MPB is entering its sixth year of
bringing the excitement of all 10 state title games to the Magnolia
State.
“Mississippi
Public Broadcasting is proud
to partner with the Mississippi High School Activities Association to
bring the state basketball championships to our citizens,” said Marie
Antoon, MPB executive director. “These games are very important to the
parents, students and communities supporting their schools and players.
We celebrate the great schools and students participating in the
championship games.”
The
entire schedule includes:
Thursday
- 7 p.m., 2A girls championship; 8:30 p.m., 2A boys.
Friday
- 1 p.m., 3A girls championship; 2:30 p.m., 3A boys; 7 p.m,, 4A girls;
and 8:30 p.m., 4A boys.
Saturday
– 1 p.m., 1A girls championship; 2:30 p.m., 1A boys; 7 p.m., 5A girls;
and 8:30 p.m., 5A boys.
