Holly Springs police seek robbery suspect By SUE WATSON Holly Springs police are looking for a male suspect who held up a clerk at a liquor store Saturday morning, according to chief Robert Pearson. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, estimated between the ages of 28-30, about 6 feet one and weighing around 190-200 pounds and with bad case of acne, Pearson said. The suspect entered the liquor store in the 100 block of Whaley Drive around 10 a.m., February 24, and picked up some items as if he were going to make a purchase, the store clerk told police investigators. “The suspect requested a bottle of liquor from under the counter and when the clerk stood back up with the bottle, the suspect was pointing a gun at her,” Pearson said. The suspect then demanded money from the register be put in bags and left the store on foot with over $3,000 in cash, Pearson said. Holly Springs Police Department is investigating the incident. Officers also investigated an aggravated assault call in the 500 block of Craft Street last week. In addition, officers responded to 20 calls last week: suspended driver’s license (5); trespassing (2); disorderly conduct (2); driving under the influence (1); simple assault/domestic violence (3); possession of contraband (3); no driver’s license (3); and malicious mischief (1). Anyone having any information regarding these or any other crimes can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169 or the Holly Springs Police Department at 662-252-2122.
