Lady Hawks, Hawks ousted in first round of North State By BARRY BURLESON The Holly Springs High School basketball teams had to hit the road for the first round of Class 3A North Tournament play and it proved to be tough travels. But the Bulldogs took control early on Tuesday night of last week, going up 20-11 after one period, and they knocked off the Hawks by 10. It was their second win over Holly High this season. Hitting in double figures for the Hawks were Daniel Burton and Justin Lesueur with 12 each and Jeremy Jeffries with 11. The Lady Hawks lost 62-44 at South Pontotoc on Monday night, Feb. 19. They trailed 28-22 at the half. Ebony Taylor gunned in a game-high 24 points for coach Wilbert Beard’s Lady Hawks. Tamekico Johnson followed with 14. Report News:
