Potts Camp loses two at Houlka Potts Camp dropped two three-point decisions on the basketball court Friday night at Houlka. Coach Kevin Harris’ Lady Cardinals led the Lady Wildcats 30-27 at the half but couldn’t hang on. They lost a hard-fought contest 52-49. Jasmine Harmon had a team-high 19 points for the Lady Cardinals, whose season record went to 14-13. Coach Brian Smith’s Cardinals battled tooth and nail with the Wildcats before falling 84-81. Potts Camp went up 23-22 after one period and the game was tied at 42 at the half. The high-scoring affair continued in the second half with the Wildcats pulling out the close victory. Shawn Collins’ 20-point night led the Cardinals. Four others were in double figures – Josh Martin with 19, Justin Smith with 17, Jacobye Davis with 15 and Chris Sims with 11. The Potts Camp boys saw their record go to 18-10 for the season. “We were a couple of possessions away from having a 2-0 week (versus Byers, a 70-69 loss on Tuesday, and Houlka),” Coach Smith said. “We have to do a better job of closing out games.” Schedule Potts Camp teams visited Myrtle Tuesday. They host Lewisburg Friday to end the regular season. The Division 1-2A Tournament will be held next week, February 12-16, at Belmont. Both the Potts Camp boys (4-2) and girls (2-4) will play first-round games either Monday or Tuesday. The bracket was to be finalized on Wednesday of this week. Report News:
