Reception held for Ssgt. Tiffany Harnack
The Collins-Hurdle VFW Post 5697 provided a send-off for Air Force Ssgt. Tiffany Rogers Harnack in support of her deployment to Iraq.
The reception was held at the local VFW for Staff Sgt. Harnack and her family members where the officer was given gifts and shared some of her military experiences. “She talked about life in the military today and shared some of her experiences,” said Danny Tate, with the post. “The men shared their stories and combat experiences as well and everyone wished her well and Godspeed.” The post paid Harnack’s first year membership dues to the VFW as they did with the local guard unit which was deployed in 2005-2006 to Iraq. Harnack becomes the only female member of the VFW post in Holly Springs. She is an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and oversees transportation as part of her duties. Harnack received the Mississippi flag and was asked to fly it over the compound where she will be stationed and have fellow members of her unit to sign it. When the flag is returned, the VFW will put it on display at the local post house. Harnack was also presented with a pack of VFW phone cards by Ladies Auxiliary president Suzie Sexton. Jeremy Harnack and 4-year-old daughter Lexie are stationed in Okinawa, where Ssgt. Harnack was stationed before deployment to Iraq. Jeremy will also be deployed to Iraq in a few months and the couple will leave their daughter Lexie with her grandmother in Potts Camp. Tiffany is the daughter of Will and Cindy Rogers of Potts Camp and the granddaughter of Ralph and Pearl Owen of Myrtle and Maggie Rogers of Potts Camp. She is the niece of Danny and Linda Tate of Lake Center. Report News:
