A group from First Baptist Church Mt. Pleasant attended the Christmas cantata “The Singing Christmas Tree” at Bellevue Baptist Church Monday night, Dec. 10.

Santa will make early rounds before his long night’s journey
Since last week more Christmas lights have been added to our community. I don’t believe anyone can outdo the Shears, the Eldredges or the Rosses; but there are some beautiful displays on, as well as off the lake.

Marshall County Retired Education Personnel had their Christmas Fellowship Luncheon at David Beckley Conference Friday, Dec. 14. Devotion was led by Della Phillips’ president Jones called the meeting to order. Minutes were read by Mary Ruth Street, secretary.
Louise Plaxico gave the nomination committee report. Three honorees were named for the February meeting. Dismissal was by Riley Redd.
Samuel Chapel Missionary Society visited the Benton County Jailhouse and the nursing home in Ripley last Saturday.
Heroines of Jericho Court No. 14 had its Christmas party Saturday night. The Christmas story was told, gifts were exchanged and Christmas dinner was served.
Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will have their dinner Dec. 14.
Hopewell No. 1 members having a birthday in December: Laramie Payne, 2; Debbie Walker, 2; Larry Nunally, 3; Donna Boga, 4; Sherry Griffin, 6; Terry Griffin, 6; Morgan Crittle, 10; Myron Crittle, 10; Clay Byers, 15; Tracy Lesure, 18; Sandy Aldridge, 18; Tammy Boga, 19; Rudy Whitelow, 23; Dr. John W. Crittle, 31. The congregation sang Happy Birthday to all of them.
