Hannah pouring in points for Paris By BARRY BURLESON The Paris (Texas) Junior College Dragons are on fire, in large part due to the play of a former Holly Springs High School Hawk, Clevin Hannah. In three recent victories Hannah scored a combined 64 points, including 31 in a 72-47 win over Kilgore on January 17. “You try to keep things simple and not overcoach or out-think yourself when you’ve got someone who was as hot as Clevin was tonight - he was unbelievable,” said coach Ross Hodge in a sports story from The Paris News’ website. Hannah made 12 of 19 shots versus Kilgore, including five of eight three-pointers. “Anybody on this team can score on any given night, and we fed off Clevin in this one,” teammate Kenneth Clayton said. Hannah said, “We’ve got to be ready to shoot when we get open looks, and I was feeling it tonight. We answered their runs with ones of our own.” Hannah scored 17 points in an 86-65 victory over Lon Morris on January 10 and 16 points in a 76-62 win over Angelina College this past Saturday. With the win over Angelina Sataurday, the Dragons improved to 16-3 overall and 9-2 in Region 14. They were ranked 13th in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s first poll of 2007. Hannah, a 2006 graduate of Holly Springs High School, helped lead the Hawks to back-to-back Class 3A state crowns in 2004 and 2005 and a runner-up finish in 2006. Report News:
