Sympathy extended to Clayton family
Lifetime friends, Betty Rose Jones of Memphis and her sister, Kathryn Jones Scarborough of Houston, Tx., visited in my home, and the home of Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Stone on Friday. They are descendants of the late Dr. J.W. Vaughan, the first Potts Camp doctor. Their parents are the late Harry and Rose Jones, active members of the town, school and Potts Camp Methodist Church. Mary Frances Fitts, an artist, is their sister; she lives in Dallas, Tx.
Volunteer firemen honored with dinner
The Ladies Auxiliary honored our volunteer firemen last week with an appreciation dinner. There are approximately 20 men in this community who are on stand-by, twenty four hours a day, to provide the necessary services needed in case of a fire or other life threatening catastrophe. These volunteers put their lives on the line in this dangerous job and we owe every one of them a great deal of respect and gratitude.
