Bi-County starts Thursday

Basketball teams from Marshall and Benton counties battle for bragging rights this week.

The fourth annual Bi-County Tournament will be played Thursday through Saturday at Holly Springs High School. Participating schools are Holly Springs, Byhalia, H.W. Byers, Potts Camp, Ashland and Hickory Flat.

The inaugural tournament was held at Rust College in 2004. Champions were the Holly Springs Hawks and the Ashland Lady Blue Devils.

The tournament was held at Northwest Community College in 2005. Champions were the Holly Springs Hawks and the Byhalia Lady Indians.

The tournament was held at Hickory Flat in 2006. Champions were the H.W. Byers Lions and the H.W. Byers Lady Lions.

The schedule this year follows.

Thursday, Nov. 29

4 p.m., Girls - Ashland vs. Potts Camp.
5:30 p.m., Boys - Hickory Flat vs. Ashland.
7 p.m., Girls - Hickory Flat vs. Holly Springs.
8:30, Boys - Potts Camp vs. Byhalia.

Friday, Nov. 30

4 p.m., Girls - H.W. Byers vs. Hickory Flat-Holly Springs winner.
5:30 p.m., Boys - H.W. Byers vs. Hickory Flat-Ashland winner.
7 p.m., Girls - Byhalia vs. Ashland-Potts Camp winner.
8:30 p.m., Boys - Holly Springs vs. Potts Camp-Byhalia winner.

Saturday, Dec. 1

4 p.m. - Girls Consolation Game.
5:30 p.m. - Boys Consolation Game.
7 p.m. - Girls Championship Game.
8:30 p.m. - Boys Championship Game.
