Lamar visits Ole Miss Friday night

Lamar University will bring plenty of local flavor to Oxford this Friday night when it faces Ole Miss on the hardwood.
Four players from Marshall and Benton counties dot the Cardinals’ roster – Kenny Dawkins, Currye Todd, Justin Nabors and Lamar Sanders.
Dawkins is a 5’9” junior guard from Holly Springs. Todd is a 6’4” senior guard from H.W. Byers. Nabors is a 6’6” junior forward from Holly Springs. Sanders is a 6’6” senior forward from Hickory Flat.
Lamar opened its exhibition season last week with a 92-75 win over Incarnate Word. Dawkins led the team with 21 points, six rebounds, seven assists and three steals. He shot seven of 11 from the field, including three threes.
Todd added 13 points on five of eight shooting.
The Cardinals were scheduled to open the regular season Tuesday night of this week at home versus LeTourneau.
The game Friday at Ole Miss tips off at 7 p.m.
