About 100 runners participated in the Killer Kudzu Fall Finale October 27 in Holly Springs. The 5K and 1-mile races were held the Saturday morning of the Kudzu Festival, which made its move downtown this year. Crossing
the finish line first on the challenging Killer Kudzu 5K course was
Hugh Ferry of Memphis, Tenn. His time was 17:23. Behind Ferry in the
overall standings were Eric Butze, second, 17:39; and Vince Berryman,
third, 17:39. Butze and Berryman are also from Memphis. Top
female finisher was Wendy Ragle of Memphis. Her time was 20:34. Two
other runners from Memphis were second and third -Leslie Brahm, 22:16;
and Jennie Keith, 22:49. Killer Kudzu 5K Fall Finale Seventy-six runners finished the beautiful course which runs past antebellum homes and historic sites throughout Holly Springs.
