Scoreboard ‘Crazy league’ Before I am accused of sitting around all day drinking Kool-Aid and reading non-consequential blogs from ninnies who have a luke warm knowledge of just how football is handled down here in SEC country, let me set the record straight – I don’t read a lot of “blogs.” Heck, I don’t even read a few “blogs.” Registration open for youth basketball league The Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department is holding registration for youth basketball for boys and girls ages 4-14. You can register at City Hall Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fee is $20. Registration continues until November 5. For more info, call 252-4807. Mt. Pleasant Lions’ homecoming this Saturday It’s the last chance to see the Mt. Pleasant Lions youth football and cheer teams in a regular season game. Our homecoming will be held on Saturday, October 27, at Byhalia High School in Byhalia. This game will be dedicated to our grandparents and sponsors. If you have not witnessed our program in action, then this is your chance. Come out to see for yourself what a great program this is for the children of Marshall County. The first game will start at 10 a.m. against the South Jackson Raiders. Don’t miss the Mt. Pleasant Lions cheerleaders’ performance which will be during halftime. Wilson gets hole-in-one on Kirkwood National course On October 21, Tim Wilson of Potts Camp aced the Par 3, #6 hole (147 yards) at Kirkwood National in Holly Springs. Wilson used his #5 Hybrid club. The hole-in-one at Kirkwood was witnessed by Sonny Bounds, Johnny Valentine and Charlie Gibson. |
