Absentee voting
ends Nov. 3
Election
day - featuring key state, district and local races - is less than two
weeks away.
The
general election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6. Polls will be open from
7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The
circuit clerk’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for absentee
voting. Plus, it will be open Saturday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 3,
from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for absentee voting. November 3 at noon is the
deadline.
The
Marshall County ballot will include the following races, with
Democratic candidates listed first and Republicans next.
- For governor – John
Arthur Eaves Jr. or Haley Barbour.
- For lieutenant
governor – James R. “Jamie” Franks Jr. or Phil Bryant.
- For secretary of
state – Robert H. “Rob” Smith or Delbert Hosemann.
- For attorney
general – Jim Hood or Al Hopkins.
- For state auditor –
Mike Sumrall or Stacey E. Pickering.
- For state treasurer
– Shawn O’Hara or Tate Reeves.
- For commissioner of
agriculture and commerce – Rickey L. Cole, Lester Spell or Paul Leslie
Riley (Constitution Party).
- For commissioner of
insurance – Gary Anderson or Mike Chaney.
- For Northern
District, public service commissioner – Brandon Presley or Mabel
Murphree.
- For State Senate,
District 2 – Bill Stone or Ralph H. Doxey.
- For State House of
Representatives, District 5 – Kelvin O. Buck or James Richard Dunworth.
