Mt. Pleasant wins two The Mt. Pleasant Lions pee-wee (7-9-year olds) and bantam (10-13- year-olds) teams traveled to Greenville to take on the Greenville Red Hornets on Saturday, October 13. The pee-wee team (ranked 4-0) was victorious after a double overtime battle against the Hornets with a score of 6-0. The bantam team (ranked 2-2) staged a major comeback after being down 18-0 to win with a score of 20-18. Hats off to our outstanding coaching staff – Olando Stephen, Wiley Paige, Cleo Jones Sr. and Garry Stigger (pee-wee team), and Lance Collins and Lorenzo Stephens (bantam team). Special thanks to Eddie Dixon, Chuck Thomas, and the Marshall County Board of Supervisors for making our trip to Greenville possible. Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank the parents, players, cheerleaders, and caravan of supporters for traveling with us to Greenville. Our homecoming is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, at Byhalia High School in Byhalia. This is the last game of the regular season. We will be dedicating this game to all of our grandparents and sponsors. If you have not had the opportunity to witness our program in action, please take the time to come out to support us on this day. The first game will start promptly at 10 a.m. against South Jackson. It is still not too late to help our program. For more information on the program, potential donations, and/or sponsorship, please contact Kesha Collins at (662) 851-4381 or Carrol Seldon at (662) 851-4992, or on the web, go to http://www.leaguelineup.com/mtpleasantlions. |
