• Sheriff’s report Two charged with larceny By BARRY BURLESON Editor A stolen four-wheeler has been recovered and three people arrested in connection with the incident. Charles
Edward Malone, 36, 177 Malone Lane, Byhalia, and Brandon Cecil, 24,
1399 Hebron Church Road, Lamar, were arrested and charged with grand
larceny in the theft of a four-wheeler, according to Marshall County
Sheriff Kenny Dickerson. Malone was arrested October 12 and Cecil
October 16. The four-wheeler was stolen from Campground Road behind Mt. Zion Church. Dickerson
said Malone is being held on a Mississippi Department of Corrections
warrant and Cecil faces several other charges in relation to some
burglaries and larceny cases. He said Cecil has more charge in two
other counties. Bond on the two suspects was set at $5,000 each. Vannie
Gatewood, 56, 35 Gatewood Lane, Byhalia, was arrested October 12 and
charged with receiving stolen property, Dickerson said. He said
Gatewood was arrested at his residence and the four-wheeler, stolen
from Campground Road, was recovered at his residence. Gatewood is out of jail on $5,000 bond. Dickerson
said the sheriff’s department has recovered a lot of stolen property
from the Barton, Highway 72 and Byhalia areas. If anyone who has been a

department, 662-252-1311. The sheriff’s department also reported two other recent arrests in separate incidents. After
receiving numerous complaints and information from cooperating
witnesses, the 3rd Judicial Narcotics Unit and the sheriff’s department
recently arrested Clarence Martin, 54, Parker Cove, Byhalia, Dickerson
said. Martin is charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to
transfer, enhanced by possession of a weapon, he said. The investigation is ongoing. The suspect is out on $5,000 bond. Cassandra
Wolfe, 36, 2323 Macingvale, Hernando, was recently arrested and charged
with absconded house arrest, violation of probation, according to the
sheriff’s department.
