Dellia Chandler
Dellia (Mee Mee) Chandler, 91, of Holly
Springs, formerly of Covington, Tenn., died at her daughter Marion’s
home Sept. 30, 2007. She was a member of Crosspointe Christian Fellowship
in Olive Branch.
Services were held Oct. 5 at Covington
First Assembly of God Church. Rev. Doug Bell officiated, assisted by
Rev. Lamar Burkholder and Rev. Ed Hawkins.
She leaves two daughters, Marion Pryor
of Holly Springs and Susan Bragg of Covington, Tenn.; three grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
The family has requested any memorials
be sent to Crosspointe Christian Fellowship, 6400 Blocker, Olive Branch,
MS 38654.
John Luster Glover
John Luster Glover, 65, of Holly Springs,
died Sept. 29, 2007 at his sister’s home in Holly Springs. He
was a self-employed handyman.
Services were held at 12 noon on Oct.
6 at Providence MB Church in Holly Springs, where he was a member. Burial
was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Minister Johnny L. Glover officiated.
J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a son, Johnny L. Glover of
Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Martina Moore of Hickory Flat; six sisters,
Sarah Glover, Lucille Jenkins, Carlean Paige, Elnora Jeffries, Belinda
Ayers, all of Holly Springs, Murlee Rounds of Aurora, Ill.; two brothers,
Frank Glover of Aurora, Ill., William Jeffries of Holly Springs; and
six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter,
Shelia Hunt; brothers, Aaron Glover Jr., Mack Glover; and sister, Anna
Alice Glover.
Pallbearers were Kendrick King, Dennis
Jenkins, Kenny Glover, Bennard Rounds, Lennard Rounds and Leroy Rounds.

Herod Jr.
Charles Lewis (Chuck) Herod Jr., 26,
of Abbeville, died Sept. 28, 2007.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m.
on Oct. 4 at Jordan Chapel Church in Oxford. Rev. David Gulledge officiated.
Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his parents, Mary Alice and
Charles Herod Sr. of Abbeville; two sons, Jalen Herod of Chicago, Ill.,
Xavian Herod of Abbeville; two sisters, Barbara Herod, Debra Herod,
both of Abbeville; two brothers, Kevin Herod, James Herod, both of Abbeville;
two adopted brothers, Derrick Southern, Charles Westly Pegues, both
of Oxford; and his maternal grandmother, Lula Quarles of Abbeville.
Henritta Jackson
Hunt
Henritta Jackson Hunt, 82, of Holly Springs,
died Sept. 27, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She
was the widow of Joe Hunt.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Oct.
4 at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church, where she was a member. Burial was
in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Christian Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum
and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a daughter, Josephine Hunt
of Holly Springs; a sister, Louise Coleman of LaGrange, Tenn.; eight
grandchildren 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter,
Lisa Harden.
Pallbearers were Willie Hunt, Travis
Hardin, Tracey Hardin, LeMorris Hunt, Eric Hardin, LaCortney Kizer and
Edward Hardin. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Coleman, Curtis Jackson,
Henry Jackson, Bobby Jackson, Joe Jackson, James Jackson and Milton
Jackson.
Ernest B. Jones
Ernest B. Jones, 91, of Holly Springs,
died Sept. 28, 2007 at his home. He was the widower of Luellar Todd
Jones. He was a church deacon, ordained minister, member of Masonic
Lodge and a member of Retired Teachers Association. He taught in Marshall
County Schools for over 40 years.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Oct.
7 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Cayce, where he was a member. Rev.
Keith Pendilton officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F.
Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves five daughters, Rebecca Brown
of Jackson, Lurline Walls, Annie Richmond, both of Red Banks, Delcenia
Daniels, Earnest Taylor, both of Holly Springs; four sons, Leroy Jones
of Holly Springs, Ernest B. Jones Jr., Clarence Jones, Arverne Jones,
all of Red Banks; a brother, Benjamin Jones Jr. of Red Banks; 22 grandchildren,
31 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister,
Florida Fields; and a brother, Booker T. Jones Sr.
Pallbearers were Masonic Lodge #339 and
grandsons Adrian Daniels, Reggie Alexander, Marcus Daniels, Antoine
Taylor, Jedidiah Jones, Nicholas Jones and Andrew McFarland. Honorary
pallbearers were Richard Alexander Sr., Richard Alexander Jr., Christopher
Brown, Daniel Brown, Joseph Brown II, Johnny Daniels, Arvern Jones,
Clarence Jones, Ernest B. Jones Jr., Leroy Jones, Earl Richmond, Kelvin
Richmond, Ozell Taylor and Roosevelt Walls.
Philip Dean Teel
Philip Dean Teel, 70, of Red Banks, died
Oct. 3, 2007 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. He was a fork
lift operator with Carrier and a U.S. National Guard veteran with the
108th Armored Cavalry.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Oct.
6 at Carey Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a member. Bro. O.E. Langner
officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Syble Teel of Mt.
Pleasant; two sons, Philip Douglas Teel of Holly Springs, Jeffrey Dean
Teel of Ashland; a daughter, Paula Teel Poff of Ashland; a brother,
Warren Teel of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Lola Dickerson of Holly Springs;
and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter,
Amber Poff.
Adeline Lyles
Woodson
Adeline Lyles (Glennie) Woodson, 76, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 28,
2007 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab. She was the widow of
Northern Woodson and was disabled.
Graveside services were held at Greenwood
MB Church Cemetery in Lamar. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.
She leaves four sons, Stanley Woodson
of Greenwood, George Woodson of Memphis, Tenn, Water Woodson of Booneville,
Clarence Woodson of McGhee; and her caregiver, Pattie Beard of Ashland.
