Swanee’s
new radio show debuts Thursday on WKRA
Holly Springs’ own Lois Swanee is
hosting a new talk show on WKRA AM 1110 beginning this Thursday at 2
p.m.
She will be interviewing local people
from Holly Springs, Marshall County and Mississippi.
The title of Swanee’s show is Swanee’s
Mississippi Good News Happy Hour.
All talent will be home-grown with Swanee
asking questions and providing her own opinion and callers asking questions
to those being interviewed.
Marshall County Historical Museum is
sponsoring the show.
Expect to hear a lot of local history,
some weather reports, and have your favorite recipe ready when you call.
“We’re gong to be as
big as Garrison Keillor, baby,” Swanee quipped. “We may
have to move to FM.”
Swanee said her children were hysterical
when she told them about her newest endeavor.
“Mama, what’ll you
think of next?” they asked.
So anyone who has talent they want to
show off is invited to listen to AM 1110 Thursday afternoons at 2 p.m.
and call Swanee to get on the program.
“This is a very colorful
community full of talented people,” she said. “This is the
biggest thing that’s happened here in a while. It’s going
to be big if I can work it up.”
Swanee can be reached at the museum weekdays
at 662-252-3669. Call her with your ideas and offers of support for
a new show featuring all local talent.
