H.W.
Byers PTA is off to a great start for the school year
Yes! H.W.
Byers is off to a great start. We have kicked off the official start of
the year and things are promising as we look forward to a positive
impact on another school year. At our first meeting held Sept. 20, PTA
executive board officers were introduced to the new body: Vivian
Gulledge, president; Tonya Gulledge, vice president; Deloris Anderson,
treasurer; Carrol Seldon, secretary. The body voted in chairperson(s)
for the various committees. The parent attendance of the meeting was
low; however, the school teachers and support were present in record
numbers.
The PTA
president and executive staff would like to thank Mrs. Pye and the
elementary staff, Mr. Hannah and the high school staff, for your
continued support. PTA congratulates our principals, staff, parents and
students for the effort put forth on the MCT and standardized tests.
Our scores are constantly improving each year and we as parents are
particularly grateful because we know that this is a step in the right
direction for our children. We know that this is leading them toward
higher heights, such as better ACT scores, advanced placement, more
academic scholarships, etc. We are looking forward to yet another
promising academic school year.
The
president and executive staff would like to take this opportunity to
thank Mr. Randolph and the Marshall County School Board, especially our
own Harvey Garrison for your approvals on the improvements made to our
school and school grounds over the summer. As we pull into the entrance
of the campus, we can see the start of the improvements. We appreciate
the improvements made throughout the building, and more importantly,
our children now enjoy a comfortable, clean and safe school experience.
Thank you very much.
Yes! PTA is
off to a great start. As your president I would like to challenge each
parent, teacher and support staff of H.W. Byers to become a PTA member.
Become a member and continue to help support our school officials,
principals and students to become the best that they can be. Our
meetings are held every third Thursday of the month beginning at 6 p.m.
Our October meeting will be favored with the introduction of our Lions
and Lady Lions basketball teams.
I would like
to meet each and every parent within the H.W. Byers family.
Vivian Gulledge
H.W. Byers President,
2007-2008
