Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, pursuant to Section 89-2-7 of the Mississippi Code, hereby gives notice that the land and water contained within the boundaries of Arkabutla Lake and Askew Area in DeSoto, Tate, Panola, Tunica and Quitman Counties, Mississippi, are open to the general public for outdoor recreational use. These areas provide an array of recreational opportunities, including but not limited to hunting, fishing, boating, sailing, scuba diving, water skiing, swimming, pleasure driving, nature studies, camping with or without electricity, picnicking, horseback riding, hiking, motorcycling, archery, etc. Shower facilities, restrooms, boat launching ramps, trailer sanitary stations, beach houses, designated swimming areas, fish cleaning stations, drinking water and picnic shelters are also available. Private concessionaires also provide outdoor recreational opportunities of a varied nature at these areas. All of these facilities are open to the general public for their outdoor recreational use. You are strongly encouraged to visit the Lake's project office or visitor center and familiarize yourself with these recreational opportunities. (4-5c)

The Marshall County Planning Commission will meet for their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, February 8, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the Zoning Office at 590 Old Highway 78-East, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
