Junior Pats blank Lee
The Marshall Academy junior high football continued its winning ways last week.
The Patriots made the long journey to Lee (Ark.) and dominated the Cougars 28-0. Their record improved to 3-0.
Quarterback Hank Owens ran for three touchdowns and threw a pass to Taylor Maurey for the other. Marshall was two of four on two-point tries with Owens crossing the goal-line for both of those.
Coach Webb Lewis said the MA defense shined.
“They (the Cougars) had negative yards total offense,” Lewis said.
The Patriots have an unusual two-game week this week.
They were scheduled to visit Carroll Academy on Monday for a make-up contest rained out earlier in the year.
They then host Tupelo Christian Thursday at 7 p.m.
