| Preliminary work to begin on Hwy. 305 According to District Engineer Richard Allen, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) has begun preliminary work on Highway 305 in DeSoto County. This press release serves as a notice to residents who live along Highway 305 from Highway 78 to Goodman Road that MDOT has begun the right of way process, which will include appraisal, acquisition and relocation for the widening of Highway 305. Survey crews will be out staking the proposed right of way. At this time, the right of way process is expected to be complete by June 2009. Relocation of utilities is anticipated to be complete by June of 2012. If the schedule allows, the project will be let to contract in July of 2012. Allen, Williford and Seale will perform the appraisal work for this project. Their employee’s vehicles will be labeled as they proceed to appraise property in the area. MDOT employees will perform the surveying, acquisition and relocation work for this project. MDOT employee’s vehicles will also be properly labeled as they proceed to perform work in the above mentioned area.
