Snow Lakers have reported that our friendly gaggle of geese are slowly
returning after feasting on the local farmers’ crops. Hopefully,
some will choose to go on down south, but who could blame them, for
picking our beautiful lake?

No. 1 Choir Day set for Oct. 30; Mary Milan receives ribbons at fair
Hopewell No. 1’s Choir Day will
be the last of October, 3 p.m. Cora Walton, president. Rev. Leroy James,
pastor. Many choirs and solo singers have been invited.
Genetha Smith was in an auto accident
on Highway 72 Sept. 13.
Mary Milan participated in the Benton
County Fair. She was awarded 28 blue ribbons for first place and 11
red ribbons for second place. She participated in Marshall County’s
exhibit with 25 entries. She was awarded 19 blue ribbons for first place
and six red ribbons for second place.
Hopewell No. 1’s Conference for
the second quarter will be Oct. 12, 7 p.m., with Pastor James presiding.
Marshall County Education Retired Personnel
will meet Friday, Oct. 12, 1 p.m. at the library with president Jones
presiding.
