The
Holly Springs Primary School hosted its Back-To-School Night Thursday,
August 23, from 5-7 p.m. The parents were welcomed by Joseph Stone,
principal. Parents were also informed about the uniform policy,
attendance, new curriculum and ELO (Essential Learning Objectives),
wellness policy, Parent Center, PTO (Parent Teacher Organization),
and federal programs. All parents were given an opportunity to
visit their child’s classroom and meet the teachers. We
would like to thank all of our parents for their support. |

| Holly Springs
Intermediate School held its fifth and sixth grade Back-to-School
Night Thursday, August 30, in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. Principal
Debbie Jeffries gave the welcome and occasion. Principal Jeffries
also introduced the staff and grade level chairpersons. Lead teacher
Dorlean Gibson gave information about federal programs. Gibson informed
parents of all the programs that are paid out of federal programs.
Parent Liaison Beverly Phillips invited parents to visit the parent
center. The center has new this year the sixth grade social studies
book on CD rom. PTA president Sherna Stone encouraged parents to
join the PTA. Dues are $5.00. Principal Jeffries and vice-principal
Lesure gave policy updates and school safety rules to parents. Superintendent
Walton gave MCT the overview and language arts coordinator Lorra
Isom went over the essential learning objective. Parents visited
their child’s classroom. Parents who attended the Back-to-School
Night received an out-of-uniform pass for their child. The Parent
Center provided refreshments. |

The center is open daily Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 - 3:30 and on Thursday, 8:30 - 4. For
