Earnestine Marion
Adams
Earnestine Marion Adams, 65, of Waterford,
died Aug. 8, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in
Oxford. She was the widow of Willie Glenn Adams. She was a church usher,
missionary and was retired from the dietary department of the University
of Mississippi in Oxford.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Aug.
14 at Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, where she was a member.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Billy Williams officiated. J.F.
Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves three sons, Troy Adams, Timothy
Adams, Willie B. Adams, all of Waterford; a sister, Louise Cathey of
Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Leslie Marion, James Marion, John Cathey,
all of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, McKinley
Adams.
Pallbearers were Fredrick Johnson, Michael
Thompson, Bill Wicks, John Malone, Daniel Talley, Demetrius Ingram,
Steven Jeffries, Cal Curry and Gary Turnage. Honorary pallbearers were
Timothy Adams, Troy Adams, Willie B. Adams, Jimmy Cathey, T’Juan
Adams, Cecil Ingram, Adell Ingram and Shaun Adams.
Mary Jane Faulkner
Mary Jane Faulkner, 82, of Holly Springs,
died Aug. 16, 2007 at her home. She served on the Mother board, kitchen
committee, Missionary Society and was a Sunday school and Bible school
teacher.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug.
22 at Hopewell No. 1 MB Church, where she was a member. Burial was in
Union Valley Cemetery in Byhalia. Rev. Leroy James, pastor, officiated.
Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two daughters, Mamie Byers,
Clara Bounds, both of Holly Springs; two brothers, Leester Rayford,
Johnny Rayford, both of Victoria; a sister, Georgia Mae Rayford of Byhalia;
five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rodney Gaines, Padric
Gaines, Kevin Gaines, Clay Byers, Ke’Aundre Gaines and Steve Barksdale.
Henry M. Hollowell
Henry M. Hollowell, 86, of Holly Springs,
formerly of Victoria, died Aug. 14, 2007 in Southaven. He was the widower
of Hazel M. Hollowell. He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran, a former
fireman in West Helena, Ark., and a Baptist.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug.
18 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia
Cemetery.
He leaves his sisters, Lula Holloway
of Lampass, Tx., Marie Rockey of Sisco, Tx., Mary Jackson of Arlington,
Tx., May Watkins of Stuttgart, Ark., Ann McCurley of Savana, Mo; brothers,
Tommy Hollowell of West Helena, Ark., Sonny Hollowell of Trenton, Ark.;
and his sister-in-law, brother-in-law and niece who cared for him, Aline
and James Smith and Patricia Maroney.
Sybil B. Threadgill
Sybil B. Threadgill, 83, of Tupelo, died
Aug. 14, 2007 at the Trinity Missions of Great Oaks Living Center in
Byhalia. She was the widow of Cecil Threadgill. She was a member of
Oak Ridge Christian Church.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Aug.
17 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors. Burial
was in the Garden of Prayer at Lee Memorial Park. Rev. Dale Carr officiated.
She leaves her son, Larry Threadgill
of Collierville, Tenn; three sisters, her caregiver Patsy Brown of Byhalia,
Betty Conwill of Verona, Louise Phillips of Columbus; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael
(Mike) Threadgill; her brother, Charles Burleson; a sister, Catherine
Burleson; and a grandson, Michael Threadgill Jr.
Pallbearers were Kevin Brown, Mark Brown,
Chett Brown, Buster Threadgill, Jameson Craig and Greg Conwill. Honorary
pallbearer was Scott Phillips.

Lester H. Tipler
Lester H. Tipler, 74, of Memphis, Tenn.,
formerly of Lamar, died Aug. 9, 2007 at Methodist University Hospital
in Memphis, Tenn. He was disabled.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug.
18 at Greenwood MB Church in Lamar, where he was a member. Burial was
in the church cemetery. Rev. Darvin O. Sanders officiated. J.F. Brittenum
and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves four daughters, Jernice T.
Robinson of Dallas, Tx., Dorothy Jean Wriden, Lestine Tipler, Carolyn
Maris, all of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Albert Tipler of Ashland,
Miller Tipler Jr., Sylvester Tipler, both of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother,
Frank Tipler.
Pallbearers were Steve Tipler, William
Tipler, Keith G. Tipler, Gaither Tipler, Gerry Marris and Montreal Green.
Troy Luna Young
Troy Luna Young, 76, of Holly Springs,
died Aug. 15, 2007 at Hwy. 178 W. He was a Baptist and a welder.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m.
on Aug. 22 at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a daughter, Mary Jane
Watson of Brownsville, Tenn.; two brothers, William Lee Young of Red
Banks, James Freddie Young of Holly Springs; two sisters, Barbara Young
of West Virginia, Keri Morton of Gulfport; two grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
