| Attorney
general investigation leads to Benton County arrests
Attorney General Jim Hood has confirmed
several arrests stemming from a voter fraud investigation in Benton
County.
“This is the result of a
month-long investigation by our office,” said Attorney General
Jim Hood. “It is an ongoing investigation so I can’t reveal
any specific details but I can tell you there are more arrests to come.”
Arrested August 1 by investigators from
the Attorney General’s Office with assistance from the Tippah
County Sheriff’s Office, are:

Lillie Jean Norton (age 59), 47 Lamar Road, Ashland. She is charged
with one count conspiracy to commit voter fraud. Her bond was set
at $20,000.

James Bullock (age 41), 1403 Little Egypt Road, Ashland. He is
charged with one count bribery and one count voter fraud. His bond
was set at $40,000 ($20,000 on each count).
- Ada Tucker (age 50), 14 John L. Skelton Road, Ashland. She is charged
with one count conspiracy to commit voter fraud. Her bond was set
at $20,000.
All three were taken to the Tippah County Jail. Initial appearance
for Norton and Tucker was Monday, August 6, at 9 a.m. in front of
Circuit Court Judge Henry Lackey in Okolona. Initial appearance
for Bullock was August 27 in the Justice Court of Benton County.

Four more arrests in the voter fraud investigation were announced
Friday by investigators with the Attorney General’s Office,
who were assisted by sheriffs’ offices in Tippah and Benton
counties:
- David Massey (age 40), P.O. Box 463, Hickory Flat.
- Stanley Maurice Warren,(age 33) 414 Oak Street, Hickory Flat.
- Larry Tip Massey (age 42), 504 Hopper Street, New Albany.
- Clint Moffitt (age 30), 232 Leard Street, Hickory Flat.
All four are charged with conspiracy to commit voter fraud and
were taken to the Tippah County Jail, and their bond was set at
$20,000.
“Let this be a warning to those in other counties who would
corrupt our voting process,” said Attorney General Hood. “We
will come after you.”

The AG’s office then announced two more arrests in the investigation
Monday.
- Kenny Ray Bowen, age 41, 3525 Hoover Road, Holly Springs, charged
with conspiracy to commit voter fraud.
- Billy E. Street, age 43, 2095 Old Highway 78, Hickory Flat,
charged with conspiracy to commit voter frau
The two men were taken to the Tippah County Jail, and bond was
set at $20,000 each. Arraignment is set for August 27 in the Justice
Court of Benton County.
