Marshall
County Schools announce free meal guidelines
Household lunch applications for free
and reduced price meals for the 2007-08 school year will be sent home
by every child registered in Marshall County Schools.
If you (parents) feel that your child(ren)
may be eligible, you must complete only one application per household.
If your child(ren) attends Byhalia High School, Galena, H.W. Byers,
Byhalia Elementary/Middle, Mary Reid and Potts Camp, you only need to
complete one application with only those children attending these schools.
Space is provided for five children.
If additional space is needed, please attach another application. A
new application must be complete each year so it can be determined if
your child(ren) qualifies for free and reduced meals.
Student meal prices for the 2007-08 school
year are .50 for breakfast and $1.25 for lunch. Reduced student meal
prices are .30 for breakfast and .40 for lunch.
Parents are encouraged to take advantage
of the opportunity to pay in advance in order to help prevent children
from losing their money before eating. Envelopes have been made available
for parents to assist managers with meal collection. Advance meal collection
is encouraged weekly, monthly, or annually in all schools.
New students who enroll in the Marshall
County School District and students who did not receive meal benefits
during the last school year (2006-07) must pay for their meals until
free meal application process is complete.
Students who received free and reduced
lunch/free and reduced breakfast for 2006-07 can eat off their lunch
application for 10 days. If the new application for the 2007-08 school
year is not returned within those 10 days, every child in the household
will pay full price for lunch and breakfast.
If you do not have a Social Security
number, please put a check mark in the appropriate box indicating you
do not have a number. The lunch application is incomplete if the signature
of an adult is missing and a Social Security number is missing.
