Softball
crazy
Leaving the office Friday afternoon I
stopped to talk to South Center Street neighbor B.J. Thomas, owner of
B.J.’s Cleaners.
He was getting ready to drive to Columbus
to play in a big men’s softball tournament.
I mentioned my days long ago of playing
in similar tournaments in Columbus – district and state and so
forth.
The conversation brought back many good
memories.

Of books
and movies...
Like many other folks this time of year,
I’m suffering greatly with sinus congestion and horrible headaches.
It was not a good weekend for a new book and to go to the movies. So,
naturally, this is the weekend the very last Harry Potter came out —
and my daughter and granddaughters wanted to go see Hairspray and were

Letter to
the Editor
Thanks for the
free ad:
Dear Editor,
A mother cat and her kittens decided
to pick our place for their new home. The downside is that we have dogs,
and one in particular does not like cats (or perhaps he likes to chase
them too much). We decided the best thing was to place an ad which ran
in your newspaper on July 11, 12. The lady who took my call said there
was no charge. The ad worked! All three cats found a home.
I want to thank you for the free ad.
One of the kittens became ill, and the vet costs were crazy. Not having
another bill was a true blessing. Thank you so very much.
Sincerely,
The Ammons Family
