Bridge faces wetlands challenge By SUE WATSON If Marshall County is to get funding for the bridge replacement on Old Highway 7 South below Waterford, the board of supervisors will have to find a way to mitigate wetlands that may be threatened on the east side of the highway, according to engineer Larry Britt. Residential development rockets at Kirkwood By SUE WATSON One of Holly Springs’ little known secrets is that a new community is springing up at Kirkwood National Golf Club. Two businesses burglarized in Holly Springs Businesses in the 1000 block of Crescent Meadows Drive were burglarized January 9, according to Holly Springs Police Chief Robert Pearson. Officers responded to an alarm call around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday of last week finding a business burglarized. At about 8:30 a.m. the next day a second call to the location from another business was received regarding a burglary. In addition to these two incidents, Pearson released the following list of incident calls for the past week ending January 12 - simple assault, one; suspended driver’s license, one; petit larceny, two; possession of contraband, one; identity theft, one. Two hurt in accident A three car wreck on Highway 178 Wednesday of last week injured two people, according to Holly Springs Police Chief Robert Pearson.
