Two hurt in accident
A three car wreck on Highway 178 Wednesday of last week injured two people, according to Holly Springs Police Chief Robert Pearson. The accident occurred during the early morning school bus and work traffic with the call for assistance coming to the Holly Springs Fire Department at 7:23 a.m., according to chief Ken Holbrook. The accident was cleared at 8:05 a.m., he said. Pearson said children were boarding the bus when the accident occurred. “Driver number one (the driver at fault) was driving east on Highway 178 East and he said the sun was in his eyes and he couldn’t see well,” Pearson said. Two cars were in front of driver number one and stopped for the school bus, he said. The driver of car number one rear-ended car number two and pushed it into car number three, according to the chief. The driver of number three car, a young male, told police officers he bumped his head on the headrest and his leg may have hurt a bit, said Pearson. “His mother came to the scene and drove him to the hospital,” he said. The driver of car number two had a bloody face and was transported to the hospital, according to Pearson. Car number two sustained the most damage, he said.
