• REGISTRATION of new students at H.W. Byers Elementary and High School is set for Thursday, July 19 and July 26, 2 p.m. -7 p.m. and weekdays through July 31, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

• SENIOR MEMBERS of the Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club need to meet at the MC Library, 6 p.m. The meeting will focus on scholarships for 2008. Must be in the 12 grade to be eligible for scholarships. Students who are in the 11 and 12 grades are invited. Refreshments.

• EXTRAVAGANZA Kimbrough Chapel Church will have a Praise Team Extravaganza.

• BENEFIT will be held at Thomas Arena for Odis M. Pruitt, 12 p.m. till 7 p.m., cancer patient needing a bone marrow transplant and chemo. There will be a gospel singing, concessions and a bake sale. Odis is a 1983 graduate of Holly Springs High School and the grandson of the late Odis and Dora Rhea of Holly Springs.

• APPRECIATION BANQUET Pleasant Hill CME Church in Mt. Pleasant hosts a Night of Love and Appreciation Banquet at Mt. Pisgah CME Church for Rev. and Mrs. Willie Hoey at 7 p.m.

• MEET THE CANDIDATES The Marshall County Humane Society invites everyone to a political rally and silent auction fund-raiser, Sat., July 21 at the VFW in Holly Springs, 12 noon to 4 p.m.

• MEETING The Marshall Republican Club will have their regular monthly meeting, Sat., 10 a.m. at the Marshall County Library in Holly Springs. The public is invited.

• BANQUET Isaac Chapel Church will celebrate their pastor and wife’s anniversary banquet Sat., July 21, 4 p.m. Tickets are $10.

• CLASS OF 1967 The W.T. Sims High School Class of 1967 Club will meet at the Pizza Hut, Hwy. 7 S, Holly Springs, 5 p.m. Important, please attend. Chairman, James Alford.

• Political Rally at the Hickory Flat ball field on Sat., July 28. The political speaking will start at 7 p.m. Fish plates, hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold starting at 5 p.m. There will be an auction and singing during the political speaking. There will also be a dunking booth and fun for the kids. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the fun. All proceeds go to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
