Fifteen-year reunion
The Holly Springs High School Class of 1992 held their 15-year reunion
on June 15-17. The reunion committee would like to thank all of the
participating classmates for a memorable weekend. The class had a weekend
filled with enjoyment beginning on Friday night with bowling (FunQuest,
Collierville, Tenn.), a Black-n-Gold Gala held on Saturday night at
the Shriners Bldg., and ending Sunday with a spiritual church service
at Mt. Newell M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Thurman Norman
(who is a member of the Class of 1992) and a family picnic at Wall Doxey
State Park. We would like to thank all participating teachers (Jessie
Jackson, James Robinson, Francis Underwood and Julia Williams); our
principals (Wallace Longest and Joseph Ford); and a very special thank
you to the relatives of our three deceased classmates, Lenora Blackmon
and Terrell Barksdale (Torrance Barksdale), Luscious McKinney Jr., Dewayne
and Marcus McKinney (Cecelia McKinney) and Sherita Jones and three children
(Cedric Jones). We would also like to thank Everton Grant, photographer;
Frederick Prowell, caterer; Shawn Robinson, D.J.; and many thanks to
our alma mater, the place that started it all, Holly Springs High School.
Our class song was, “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday,”
from Boys II Men. This song was true for us in 1992 after graduation,
not knowing what the future would hold. But, it also came true this
past weekend. It’s so hard to say goodbye to our classmates and
the wonderful time we shared. We look forward to seeing each other again
in 2012 (20 year reunion). Thank you, Class of 1992. We love each of
you.
