What does Tiger Woods and Mississippi State have in common? Both made “the cut” but neither turned the trick.
Playoff veteran Ron Polk and his Bullies were looking favorable as the team from the SEC which was going to add to the conference’s laurels. For Polk it was his sixth trip to the CWS (College World Series), and the Bulldogs had been showing great “sticktoitiveness.”
Youth football league organizes
The Mississippi Youth Football and Cheer League is recruiting for the 2007 season.
Local organizer Bennie Braswell Jr. is calling upon all parents, school officials and other interested persons who want to see youth football in the Potts Camp, Hickory Flat and Byhalia communities.
The league plays with three divisions – ages 7-9 under 120 lbs., ages 10-12 under 225 lbs., and 13-16 with unlimited weight.

Basketball, tennis meetings set
The Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department will be having a meeting concerning the summer adult basketball league for men and women.
It will be held Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Jr. Multi-Purpose Building.
Also, the Parks and Recreation Department will be having a meeting for adult and youth who are interested in participating in the summer tennis league. It will be held Thursday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Building.

Men’s softball tournament June 30
A men’s softball tournament will be held at the ball fields in Potts Camp on June 30.
Entry fee is $125. Proceeds will go to the Potts Camp Volunteer Fire Department.
