Rodgers advances in USA Junior Nationals
Traci Rodgers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Rodgers, has been invited to participate in the prestigious USA Junior Nationals International Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, July 23-29. The invitation is based on an outstanding performance in the recent USA Junior Nationals all-state high school basketball competition at Millsaps College. Based in Ann Arbor, Mich., the USA Junior Nationals provides one of the top amateur competitions in the United States and offers its programs to all athletes who have a high talent level in basketball and want to develop their skills and techniques through statewide, national and international competition. This is a unique opportunity for all athletes to improve their basketball talent through highly organized competition. Information about participating athletes is provided to educational institutions throughout the U.S. and Canada for possible scholarship opportunities. The USA Junior Nationals offers competitions at approximately 42 sites in the spring with competitions scheduled throughout the South, Midwest, East and West coasts. Athletes who demonstrate advanced skills, team leadership, competitive spirit and good sportsmanship go to the next level of play which is the USA Junior Nationals International Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio. Rodgers thanks all the anonymous venders who helped make this experience of a lifetime possible. Her parents said they are very grateful for the opportunity afforded their daughter to compete at this level. They also thanked Craig Dailey, head coach at Marshall Academy, for teaching her the game of basketball and opening new doors to display her talents and improve her skills.
