Clinic helps prevent unwanted litters By SUE WATSON The Marshall County Humane Society had a successful spay/neuter clinic last week, conducting 44 surgeries, according to Carmin Marlin. Police investigate building burglary Investigators are seeking suspects in the theft of six air-conditioning units from a building in the 900 block of Highway 4 East, according to Robert Pearson, Holly Springs police chief. Two Carrier and two Lenox units and four five-ton air conditioners were taken from the vacant commercial building last week, he said. Officers made one arrest last week in a separate incident. Timothy Jones, 30, of Holly Springs was arrested and charged with aggravated assault Friday June 1, Pearson said. The department wrote 93 citations last week which included: no proof of insurance (54); no tag/expired tag (5); no driver’s or expired driver’s license (16); driving while license suspended (4); seatbelt violation (8); switched tag (1); disregard for traffic (2); loud music (1); no child restraint (1); and handicapped parking (1). Pearson asks anyone with information regarding any crime committed in Holly Springs/Marshall area to contact the police department at 662-252-2122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169. Callers do not have to give their name when leaving a tip and may be entitled to a Crime Stopper’s reward of up to $1,000 if the case is solved. Foundation delivers $10,000 The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi presented a check for $10,000 to Marshall County to help Stamp Out Childhood Obesity (SOCO).
