News Hamilton hosts special program Sunday To mothers: with each gentle word and caring touch, I felt the security of His love, as well as your own. I discovered the meaning of personal faith as I watched you look to Him for guidance and saw you share His love, not only in the words you spoke, but in your actions too. God has truly blessed my life with the gift of a dodly mother. Mothers were honored throughout the churches, in the homes and around the world on Mother’s Day, May 13. Happy belated Mother’s Day to all mothers. The people of this community are in sympathy with the families of the late John Byers and the late Mickey Stewart. Our prayers go out to the sick, shut-ins and bereaved everywhere. Hamilton Chapel CME Church’s annual Men’s and Women’s Day program will be held Sun., May 20. The Greenfield Presbyterian Church’s annual calendar drive and youth day program will be held May 27, at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Minister Thaddeus Jefferson. News Retired educators to meet June 8; service honors Lessye Lee Davis There will be a three-night revival at Hopewell No. 1 July 11 to 13 nightly at 7 p.m. Rev. S.A. Phillips will be the evangelist from Pleasant Grove Church. Rev. Leroy James, host pastor. The public is invited. Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will meet Friday, June 8, 1 p.m. in the Marshall County Library with president Jones presiding. Samuel Chapel Missionary Society had dinner at Barnhill’s Restaurant in Collierville, Tenn., last week. Memorial service was at Hill Crest Cemetery in honor of the First Negro Home Extension agent, Lessye Lee Davis. Program : song, prayer by David Caldwell, Asbury. Scripture. We wish to express our sympathy and love to the family of the late Marvin Louis Baird. Services were held for him Saturday, May 5 at Ashland High School. He was a retired public school teacher.
