Call 252-6196 for the necessary appointment. • CONFERENCE Holly Springs Primary School will host parent teacher conferences and report card pick-up Jan. 10, 2-6 p.m. Early release for students, 1 p.m. • OPEN HOUSE Holly Springs Intermediate School will host open house/report card pick-up, Wed., Jan. 10, 2-6 p.m. Parents can stop by the parent center to check out free materials to help their child at home. The center will be open until 6 p.m.
• TAKE-OUT CHILI SUPPER Thurs., Jan. 11, 4-6:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Sponsored by Christians for Cancer Cure-Relay for Life. The public is invited. • BENEFIT BREAKFAST New Hope Village Homeless Shelter will sponsor a benefit breakfast Sat., Jan. 13, 8 a.m. at the Multi-Purpose Center. Tickets are $5. Everyone is invited. • Second Saturday, the Marshall County Humane Society’s farmers’ and flea market, will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the VFW in Holly Springs. • MLK BREAKFAST The annual NAACP Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Breakfast Celebration will be held on Monday, January 15, 9 a.m. at St. Paul MB Church in Byhalia. Rev. Andrew Cheairs is the speaker and host pastor for this great occasion. The Men’s Breakfast Group will prepare the breakfast. All are invited to attend.

There will a Private Applicator Training at the Marshall County Extension Office, 810 Highway 178 East in Holly Springs, on Thursday, January 18, at 1:30 p.m. There is a $10 fee for each person wishing to be certified. For further information or for study material, contact Janet Jolley, County Extension Director at 662-252-3541. • CELEBRATION The 9th annual Byhalia Chamber celebration will be held Thurs., Jan. 18, with a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m., dinner and program at 7 p.m. The event will be held at BardenStone, 89 Edwards Rd., Byhalia. •FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP Holly Springs High School guidance office will be conducting the 10th annual financial aid workshop, Thurs., Feb. 1, 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Parents of seniors are invited to attend. Two financial aid counselor from Northwest Community College will conduct the session.
