Potts Camp seniors sign with Northwest By BARRY BURLESON
Two Potts Camp Cardinals are taking their basketball skills to Northwest Community College. Seniors Jacobye Davis and Justin Smith signed with the Rangers Monday morning in the new multi-purpose building on the Potts Camp campus. The Cardinals finished 21-13 in the 2006-07 season under first-year head coach Brian Smith. Davis averaged 21.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Smith averaged 18.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. “Both represented our school well, and I’m very proud of them,” said Smith, who came to Potts Camp from South Mississippi. “I feel they have great careers ahead of them. They’re the two best seniors I’ve ever had.” Jeff Caldwell just completed his first season as head coach of the Northwest men’s basketball program. The Rangers finished 15-13. “We’re getting two good ones,” Caldwell said at the signing ceremony Monday. “I’m happy to have Jacobye and Justin join us at Northwest. “They’re two good players, two good people. They’re welcome additions to our program.” Report News:
