News Gholston girls attend services at Winborn Methodist Church The Gholston girls, Maxine Avent, Elizabeth Hunsucker and Jo Ann Cox, visited Annie Ruth and T.M. Stone last Sunday. They had attended the 60th wedding anniversary of Billy and Billie Fay Courson in Benton County, and attended church services at Winborn Methodist Church. Lake News “Fire Wise and Clean Day” set for Saturday What a beautiful week at the lake. The warm weekend brought many families out in their pontoons, and Saturday several boats were seen cruising late into the night; could it have been the Snow Lake Redneck Yacht Club out having some fun? News Revival planned Holly Springs Marshall County Baptist Association’s executive board met Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m. with moderator James Green presiding. Mt. Zion’s pastor led devotion. Auxiliaries reports were made. Beverly Phillips was appointed to be executive secretary and many other items were discussed. Closed with prayer by Smith Grove’s pastor. Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will meet Friday, June 8, 1 p.m. in the library with president Laverne Jones presiding. The 36th annual session of the Baptist New Educational State Convention will meet July 5, 6 and 7 at Mt. Moriah Church in Marshall County. Rev. R.J. Wilson will be the host pastor. A three-night revival will be at Hopewell No. 1 July 11, 13. Rev. S.A. Phillips, pastor of Pleasant Grove Church, will be the evangelist for the three nights. The public is invited to attend. Church anniversary was held at Samuel Chapel Sunday. United Brotherhood Baptist Association met in a board meeting Friday night. We wish to congratulate all seniors who will graduate this spring.
