SocietyCity Personals Birthday wishes extended to Patrick Carlton on the big 30!
Weekend guests in the home of Susan and Jimmy Warren were Alexis and Clay Williams of Ocean Springs. During their visit, Alexis was the guest speaker for a journalism class at Ole Miss. Also, visiting with the Warrens were Mindy and Jimmy Maxwell of Oxford. Mr. and Mrs. Art Collins of Atlanta, Ga., were visiting in Holly Springs over the past weekend. While here, they enjoyed the pilgrimage tour put on by the Holly Springs Garden Club. Billy and Tammy Cupp dined on scrumptious hamburgers in the home of Christopher and Jenny Cupp and daughter, Emma Grace, in Olive Branch., last weekend. They visited with Trey Langus, son of Rita Cochran Langus, of New Orleans, La., who was in town on business. Rollie Carson and daughter, Anne Kieffer, Anne Catherine Demeer and Leigh Hurdle Morris and daughters, Aubrey and Lauren, all of Memphis, served in the home of Bea and Jimmye Dale Green, Wathall-Freeman, throughout pilgrimage weekend. The girls were joined by their Holly Springs friends, enjoyed carriage rides and touring the homes. Collier Carlton and Bronson Pharr took a motorcycle ride to Birmingham, Ala., on Friday. While in Birmingham, they stayed with Patrick and Mary Glenn Carlton. Happy birthday wishes go out to Patrick, who turned the big 3-0 on Tuesday of this week! Mr. and Mrs. Michael Eugene Hamblin of Byhalia are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Susan Elizabeth Hamblin to Edward Taw Woo Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Taw Woo of Webb. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Doyce E. Nolan of Pittsboro and the late Mrs. Vyrl Nolan and the late Mr. and Mrs. O.D. Hamblin of Derma. Susan graduated from Byhalia High School, class of 2001 as valedictorian. In 2005 she receive a bachelor of science in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Mississippi. In May 2007, she will receive a doctor of pharmacy from the University of Mississippi. She will be working as a pharmacy practice resident at Methodist University Hospital following graduation. The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Dong of Webb and Mrs. Eddie Yik Woo and the late Mr. Eddie Yik Woo of Inverness. Mr. Woo is a 2000 honor graduate of Lee Academy of Clarksdale. He received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Mississippi in 2003. In 2005 he received a bachelor of science in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Mississippi. In May of 2007 he will receive a doctor of pharmacy from the University of Mississippi. The wedding will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Byhalia. A reception will follow at Thistledome Inn in Byhalia.
Ballard Saxon is welcomed home by a brother, Landon Kole Ballard. Maternal grandparents are Allen and Jeana Rowland of Waterford. Great-grandparents are Lois Saxon of Waterford and the late Eugene Saxon; Elizabeth Rowland of Hickory Flat and the late Harold Rowland. Paternal grandparents are Morris and Dale Wilson of Hickory Flat and Charlie and Sandra Ballard of Hickory Flat. Great-grandparents are H.R. and Thelma Ballard of Memphis, Tenn.
