MA takes track ribbons

Scoreboard Gator coach at top of wanted list By the time this is read by the general readership, it will be known who the “baddest of the baddest” is in the collegiate ranks, both men and women. Hoops for Hearts April 12 Students at Holly Springs Intermediate School will soon be taking shots for heart disease and stroke diseases, our nation’s number one and number three killers among Americans. On April 12, at 8 a.m., the school will hold its annual Hoops for Hearts event. Students will practice their basketball skills, play exciting skill games and raise funds for the American Heart Association. This event will help fund cardiovascular research along with public and professional education programs. Money raised from this event will help fund potentially lifesaving research involving heart and blood vessel disease and educational and community programs. Please help our students help others. When a student asks you to be a sponsor, support Hoops for Hearts with whatever you can afford to give. Make checks payable to the American Heart Association. Event coordinator is coach James Green. Klomps gets hole-in-one On March 29, Al Klomps of Holly Springs, who celebrated his 80th birthday last October, aced the Par 3, #6 hole (147 yards) at Kirkwood National using his driver. The hole-in-one was witnessed by Louise Klomps. Patriots down district opponent By BARRY BURLESON The ride to Lee (Ark.) last week for the Marshall Academy baseball team didn’t go so well, but the end result was just fine – another win. Lions drop district contest to ’Cats By CLAUDE VINSON The H.W. Byers Lions fell behind early in this one. They allowed the Baldwyn Bearcats to score a pair of runs in the top of the first Friday and they retaliated with one. They didn’t add another score until the bottom of the fourth. Report News:
