Local student among 143 listed in “Who’s Who”

Cortessia Desmonique Badie of Holly Springs is among 143 University of Mississippi students included in the fall 2006 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”

Since 1934, “Who’s Who” has recognized students for their academic achievement, service to community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. Students are selected by directory editors and local nominating committees made up of faculty, staff and student body representatives.

Badie is the daughter of Dorothy LeSueur. A biology major, she serves as vice-president of the Black Student Union. She holds leadership positions in IMAGE (Increasing Minority Access to Graduate Education) and EMERGE (Educating Minorities for Entrance, Retention, Graduation and Excellence in Medicine). Badie is an Ole Miss Ambassador and member of the Student Alumni Council and Student Programming Board. She has volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and tutors children at Oxford Middle School. She has also been named to the Lambda Sigma Honor Society and the National Honor Roll.

Who’s Who
Allen Ryves Moore of Holly Springs is among 143 University of Mississippi students included in the fall 2006 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Since 1934, “Who’s Who” has recognized students for their academic achievement, service to community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. Moore is the son of Bill and Diana Moore. A biochemistry major, he is a member of Order of Omega, Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-medical honorary, Lambda Sigma and Gamma Beta Phi honoraries. He has held leadership positions with the Interfraternity Council and Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Moore has volunteered with Leap Frog, Habitat for Humanity and American Cancer Society.
