Chapel & Mt. Pleasant News Noah Teel celebrates first birthday with party in his home Several people attended the LIFT meeting held at Carey Chapel Baptist Church on Monday night March 7. A host of relatives attended Noah Teel’s first birthday party, at his home, on March 10. Noah is the son of Gary and Michelle Teel. Several in the community attended the funeral for Georgia Budlong on March 8, at The Memphis Funeral Home Chapel. Her husband, Rev. John Budlong, was the interim pastor at FBC, Mt. Pleasant several years ago. Love and sympathy are expressed to this family. Barbara Ellis’ daughters Brenda, from Columbia, Tenn. and Gwendy, from Tupelo, visited for several days recently. Paula Miley flew to West Virginia for a business trip recently. Charles Clifton, brother of Estell McClure, had open heart surgery at Baptist Hospital in New Albany. A get well wish is sent to him. I made a trip last week with Arnold and Kathy Goode to the Kansas City, Missouri area to visit their children and grandchildren. While there we celebrated the second birthday of Campbell Goode. We had a great time. Kathy and I returned on Monday, but Arnold remained to officiate the funeral of a long time family friend. Twenty-four Keenagers met on March 6, for a delicious lunch at Carey Chapel Baptist Church. It was “hat day” and everyone decorated a hat that was entered in a contest. Even the men in the group participated. Each person received a participation certificate. Special winners were, best hat - Carrie Walker; cutest hat - Sue Scoggins; most unusual hat - Minnie Edwards, most glamorous hat - Linda Ruff; man’s best friend hat (not his dog) - George Boehn. Each person had his picture taken wearing his hat. Photos will go on the memory board at church. Stop by and check out the memory board. Some wouldn’t part with their hats, especially Bro. O.E. The Keenagers signed and sent get well cards for members of their group on the sick list. Beatrice Hanna had her pacemaker replaced and Clyde Joyner has not been able to attend the monthly fellowship for some time now. Prayers are with these two ladies. All seniors are invited to attend the Keenagers fellowship the first Tuesday of every month. Nancy Boyd sends a big thank you to the community for their help in two recent fundraisers. The chili supper and the yard sale were both a success. Report News:
