Community night at hockey game benefits Chulahoma program Holly Springs Community Night at the Memphis RiverKings game is set for Friday, March 23, at 7:05 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center Arena. The community night benefits the Chulahoma M.B. Church Mentoring Program. Buy a RiverKings ticket for $12, and $5 from each ticket will be donated to the mentoring program. Softball team fees due by March 29 The Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department announces the beginning of the 2007 men’s and women’s softball season. Registration fees are due by Thursday, March 29, at city hall. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. drop three in tournament By BARRY BURLESON The Byhalia Indians went winless in the Daily Corinthian Diamond Classic early last week in Alcorn County but head coach Bubba Brown saw improvement. Boat ramp reopens after improvements The boat ramp at J.P. Coleman State Park near Iuka has been improved and is now open for use according to officials at the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. The ramp had been closed during the past four weeks for improvements. The ramp has been widened from 40 to 48 feet and extended for launching during low-water situations. The project is just part of the improvement efforts to the facilities at J.P. Coleman State Park. Also planned are a new courtesy dock and additional parking slots. For more information about J.P.
